Original Ktag and clone Ktag both have the function of read/ write ECU data, what’s the difference between them, below is a test about it, clone Ktag version is 2.23.
Step 1: read same ECU with original ktag and clone ktag, by comparison, the data are completely same.
Step 2: edit the date and save as “new data”
Step 3: write the “new data” to ECU with original Ktag, after successful writing, read the data again, it is found that the data is different from the “new date”, it’s the data after checksum correction. check below comparison:
Step 4: Write the “new data” to ECU with clone Ktag, after successful writing, read the data again, it is found the data is same as “new data”, that is the clone ktag has no checksum correction.
A conclusion on the basis of test :
Clone ktag only cloned the original ktag read and write data function. However, the checksum correction is not copied.
Update: The newer Ktag has function of checksum correction.
