As same as Toyota Sienna, Hilux also has two key types, one is non-smart straight blade key, another is smart key fob. Below are methods to program Toyota Hilux all key lost for these two key types.
Smart key fob all key lost
Method: Reset steering lock and smart box.
Step 1: Disassemble steering lock from Car, open the lock and find 8-pin EEPROM chip 93C46 on electronic board, read the chip with key programmer like Yanhua key master or VVDI prog. Save the bin file and manual reset the data like this: retain the first and second bytes of row 020, usually shown 5555, Other bytes all replace with FFFF, save the data and write it back to 93C46 chip.
Step 2:Disassemble smart box from car, open the box and find 8-pin EEPROM chip 93C86, read the chip with key programmer, save the bin file. As this file is very different from previous 93C86, so we can’t manual reset the data, have to load the data to the device which can reset the file. Then save and write it back to EEPROM chip.
Step 3: Assemble the steering lock and smart box to car. Push start button, the dash light turn on if reset successfully. Then add keys with universal key programmer. Do the synchronization after programming.
Straight blade key G chip all key lost
Method 1: reset immo box with key programmer
No disassembling, just connect key programmer with OBD, following the steps to add keys. Key programmer can be Mini900, handy baby and other devices which has G chip all key lost function.
Method 2: write key to immo
Disassemble immo box from dash, open the box and find 8-pin EEPROM chip 93C66, read the chip with key programmer, save the file and load it to key programmer like TM100 and VVDI2 to write keys.
Method 3: manual reset immo box
Disassemble immo box from dash, open the box and find 8-pin EEPROM chip 93C66, read the chip with key programmer, save the file and modify the data like this: the bytes in red area all replace with the first and second bytes of the row 000, for example F358 in row 000 in below photo, then all the bytes in red area replace with F358, other bytes retain. Save the data and write it back to EEPROM chip. It’s same method as 2014 toyota Tundra also use 93C66 shared in post: How To Reset Immo Box To Reprogram 2014 Toyota Tundra G Chip When All Key Lost?
Note: reset immo via OBD is not 100% success to add the keys, if fail, need disassemble immo box to read chip, then reset or write key.
